Our People

Mark Wakefield.jpeg

Managing Director, Mark Wakefield

Mark founded Walton St James in 2010, following a successful six-year career with Quintessentially, where he built and managed close relationships with the world's most exclusive hospitality venues. Such connections are now combined with a genuine passion for the industry: Mark can often be found dining in London's most iconic restaurants or attending new openings. It is this immersion in the market he serves that enables Mark to deliver an unparalleled client experience. Candidates enjoy a similar level of satisfaction, as one of Mark's greatest sources of fulfilment is helping individuals to reach their full potential.

To unwind, Mark enjoys spending time in elegant hotels and restaurants. He appreciates all kinds of cuisine and loves trying new dishes and styles of cooking. However, a perennial favourite is Japanese food and he is a big fan of the creativity and boundary pushing currently shown by London's Japanese and fusion restaurants.

George Hervé.jpg

Associate Director, George Hervé

George has a strong background in luxury hospitality, having worked closely with the Director of LIFE, the concierge service supporting Caprice Holdings' members' clubs. He later specialised in organising private, corporate, and member events at The Club at The Ivy. A career change saw him move into recruitment, where he excelled in a senior role, sourcing skilled candidates for events, conferences, and exhibitions. Joining WSJ has proved the perfect way to combine George's hospitality and recruitment experience, as both clients and candidates benefit from his personal, solution-focused service.

In his free time, George enjoys adventurous holidays, which have recently included mountain biking in Morocco's Atlas Mountains, and elephant trekking in India. Closer to home, he is a fan of London's street food scene - although this means frequent trips to the gym to keep the pounds off!
